HOW TO KEEP COSTS DOWN

This monitoring device can help reduce damage.
If you could reduce workplace collisions, your material handling budget would definitely benefit. The savings from reduced damage to loads, racks and the fleet could mount up to a significant amount.
Consider this monitoring device when you order a new Cat® lift trucks.
SPEED CONTROL – MAINTAINS A STEADY PACE
Although management cannot directly supervise lift truck operators at all times, it is good to allow managers a way to exercise some control over their operator’s habits, Speed Control fits the bill. This option allows you to set each lift truck at a predetermined travel speed. Once the top travel speed limit has been set, operators cannot exceed it. You have the assurance that lift trucks are moving at a pace to get the job done and adhere to your company’s safety guidelines, but not so quickly as to encourage reckless behavior. The desired speed limit is factory set. There are no travel speed limit adjustments/dials, so operators will have to follow the rules. Speed Control does not affect the hydraulic speed of the mast, tilt and attachment functions. You retain maximum load handling productivity.
Some applications that can benefit from this option are:
• Manufacturing facilities where lift trucks and pedestrians work closely and/or where there are indoor speed limits.
• Chemical/hazardous material storage facilities where speed limits are necessary for safe handling
• Businesses that are striving to reduce insurance premiums by having strict safety policies that include speed limits
• Distribution centers and warehouses that outsource the hiring of lift truck operators, or where operators are not responsive to rules.
Applications where reducing top travel speed can affect productivity, such as those where lift trucks have long runs, perhaps between staging and storage areas, would not be candidates for Speed Control.
This option is a standard feature – no extra cost.
Speed Control is available on our new electronic Gasoline-powered (GPE) N-series lift trucks.
